I found the Alexander Technique in graduate school while pursuing my MFA in Performance at Florida Atlantic University. My first teacher Meade Andrews helped me identify unconscious physical habitual tension patterns both in my everyday existence and in my creation of characters and performance on stage.

I noticed an immediate change in how I approached my character development both physically and vocally. My projection and articulation were greatly improved using the technique to effortlessly approach the parts of my performance that were stiff or vocally underdeveloped.

My awareness of how I was using myself on stage quickly began to cross over into my everyday activities like walking, yoga, surfing, cooking, and working at the computer. I experienced more ease with my movements and more freedom in my body in general by applying the principles and procedures of the technique that I was learning.

From then on I was hooked. I knew that I eventually wanted to teach the technique and when I moved to Los Angeles I began my training.
